“BAG IT FOR BUCKS”

SALT RIVER TUBING’S OPENING WEEKEND

PHOENIX, ARIZ (May 4, 2005)--- Salt River Tubing kicks off opening weekend (May 14 – May 15) with its very popular “Bag it for Bucks” event in support of the national Take Pride in America program. The event is scheduled for May 14 - May 15, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., at the Salt River Tubing rental facility located in Tonto National Forest, northeast Mesa. The tubing opener coincides with National River Clean-up efforts scheduled nationwide. The “Bag it for Bucks” event is the company’s token of appreciation for tubers’ stewardship and conservation efforts in helping to keep the Lower Salt River clean and beautiful. Free Tommy Tuber litter bags will be distributed to floaters and encouraged to stash their picnic trash in bags as they board their shuttle buses bound for the Lower Salt River. Upon exiting the river, tubers will trade in full litter bags for a $5 tube rental discount coupon valid for their next visit to Salt River Tubing.

Henri Breault , president of Salt River Tubing, says “Salt River Heroes are responsible for a ninety percent reduction in litter along the Lower Salt River. We are pleased to offer a $5 discount coupon for tubers who take pride in Arizona’s recreational oasis. We greatly appreciate the tubers response in serving as stewards of our public lands.” Based on the success of last year’s “Bag it for Bucks” events, Salt River Tubing received a 2004 Certificate of Appreciation from the U.S. Department of Interior for its continuing efforts to further the goals and mission of the national Take Pride in America program.
